Earn all 20-Hours of Required Continuing Education From Home in 2020
Due to COVID-19, the Florida Board of Opticianry voted to allow Opticians the choice to complete all their continuing education requirements via home-study through December 31, 2020!
What does this mean for you? You have a choice on how to complete your 2019-2020 education requirements.
1. Attend any of POF's Live Conferences
POF has worked diligently to provide Florida Opticians with live education in a safe environment. All live events will practice proper social distancing (1 attendee per 6' classroom table/space), POF will provide face masks and a personal hand sanitizer to every registrant, event hotels will provide daily temperature checks and daily deep cleaning in the education rooms. Due to social distancing requirements, seating is extremely limited to all live events.
POF Member - Full Registration $117
Standard (non-member) - Full Registration $227 (daily registration options available)
2. Complete your requirements via the home-study courses listed in pofce.org.
POF has over 28 hours of home-study courses to choose from; including Laws & Rules, Reduction of Medical Errors, and HIV/AIDS.
POF Members - first 5 courses are free, then $7.50 per hour
Standard (non-member) $7.50 per hour (you pay as you go)
3. Complete your requirements via the POF Virtual Show
On August 31, all POF Virtual Show registrants will receive an email with a unique link to access to over 35 hours of amazing video education content. All education content and videos may be viewed 24-hours a day and completed at your own pace.
**No PDF's to read, no tests to print and mail back. Simply log in, watch the education video, and follow along with the PowerPoint presentation. At the end of each education video, a short quiz will pop up right on your screen for completion. Once you pass the quiz, you will automatically receive a copy of your continuing education slip. POF will submit all your completed courses to CE Broker for tracking.
